For regular session classes, please drop off your child no more than 5 minutes before a class is set to begin to ensure our instructors have time to prepare the studio space and materials.
For camps we generally allow for drop off up to, but not more than 15 minutes before the camp is set to begin to help with family schedules.
Please arrive on time to pick up your child, but please do not enter the studio until the class has ended so as not to distract the students as they work to complete their projects. After the class has ended we’re happy for you to come in to view your child’s artwork.
Check-in/Check-out procedure – There is no formal check-in or check-out procedure. Our instructors will check off our attendance list as the students arrive. We expect children to know the person who is picking them up and our instructors watch that everyone is going home with the correct person at the end of class. If there is any uncertainty, the instructor will discuss with the child and if necessary contact the parents before releasing the child.
Children who will be getting home on their own – Please inform the instructor if your child is allowed to leave the studio on their own to walk or bike home. We will make a note on our attendance list so we know which students are approved to leave on their own. Those students should still check in with the instructor before leaving.
Snacks & Cell phones
Nut-free snacks and water bottles are welcome in the studio.
If your child will be bringing a cell phone with them to the studio it will not be allowed in the art making space and should be stored in a bag/backpack and set to silent.
What to Wear
Things can and will get messy sometimes at the studio so please send your child in clothes and shoes that you and they are OK with getting stained with paint or markers. We do have smocks available, but we can’t guarantee things won’t still get stained so it’s better to come prepared.
The studio is a creative, but calm, respectful and safe space and students should come prepared to work within those parameters. We get silly and noisy sometimes, but when it comes time to do some art making it helps everyone if the tone and energy quiets down to a reasonable level so everyone can focus on their activity.
Parents will be called to pick up their child in the event of serious behavioral issues such as using inappropriate language, throwing or damaging studio supplies and equipment, or disregarding directions and making it difficult for the instructor to provide instruction and for the other participants to work on their projects.
