BEGINNER PORTRAIT DRAWING PART 1 (16+)

Portraits don’t need to be intimidating! Carol will break it down for you; each week we’ll do a warm-up exercise followed by in-depth instruction on a single feature. We’ll review the structure and proportions of a face. Carol will provide demos and instruction how to describe the eyes, nose and mouth. At the end of several classes you’ll be much better prepared to tackle a whole portrait.

BEGINNER PORTRAIT DRAWING PART 2 (16+)

For this follow-up session, we’ll put it all together! We’ll use the skills you learned in Part 1 and copy a small portrait in pencil. I’ll demonstrate and show you step-by-step how to place the features and get a good likeness. You’ll find that drawing a portrait can be meditative and rewarding and not at all as difficult as you’d think.
